Lesson 35

Lesson 35: BHFM and The Stoic Advisor

Weekly Habits for Success - Daily Task to The Habits for Success

Being a Stoic Financial Advisor means that you are not just independent, but you’re strong… strong in your morals and in the practice of those morals.

You understand that we are social animals and that we become who we associate with. Therefore, you associate with those that are of good, honest rapport and that can, in some way, inspire you to be better.

The warm feeling of belonging is what the Stoics called “sympatheia”, knowing that you are a part of a group and everyone is better together than they are apart.

How many friends have you reached out to? How many relationships have your fostered? How many do you plan to foster? Did you add value to anyone’s life this week? Did you uplift your own spirits by uplifting the souls of those you came in contact with?

What have you learned about the importance of quality relationships with good people?

How did it make you feel to get into contact with a long-lost friend?

What are you going to do to make it a priority to foster those relationships?

NEW TASK: Ask yourself these questions at your monthly meeting with yourself to review your progress.

NEW HABIT: Have a monthly meeting with yourself where you review all of this and ask yourself all these questions. Schedule it and put it on your calendar. You may want to go somewhere for a day or weekend and review all of this and spend that day writing and journaling about all the things that you’ve learned in the last six months.
